Services

Lekotek offers a wide range of services and programs for children with disabilities and their families.  Many activities involve the use of computers or toys adapted especially for a particular child's needs.  Support groups are available for moms, dads, grandparents, and siblings.  The Support Groups page lists dates and times for Sibshops and parent/grandparent support groups.  Lekotek also provides consultation and training services for professionals and parents.

Lekotek services are available both at the main Lekotek location on Cliff Valley Way and at several satellite locations.  Services are also available for children who are in the hospital.  Lekotek leaders conduct play sessions with adapted toys in the neonatal unit and in the hospital for kids unable to visit a Lekotek center. Toys are loaned to families to use while in the hospital.

• Computer Evaluations
  • For individuals of all ages
  • Conducted using a wide array of software and adapted devices. The two hour evaluation is conducted by two staff members. The child's physical abilities to access the computer are evaluated. Appropriate software to develop cognitive, fine motor and recreational abilities is also evaluated. 
  • A written report summarizing the observations of the evaluation, low and high tech solutions, and a resource list are given to the parents following the evaluation.
